Is my current safety program preventing me from securing new work contracts?
It could. All Request For Proposals (RFP) have Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) questions that must be answered correctly with your company's safety information such as current and past injury rate, safe work procedures, etc. This information will be reviewed and evaluated along with all of your company's safety documentation to verify that the contract requirements can be met. If you do not answer the questions correctly or your safety program does not meet the requirements, the contract will be awarded to one of your competitors.
Does my current safety program add value to my company?
It should. Companies with the right safety program for their type of work have fewer injuries, are often rated better places to work, and have more satisfied, more productive employees. These employees take responsibility for their safety and produce higher-quality products and services for you and your customers. Safe workplaces provide the consistency and reliability needed to build and grow a business.
Is your safety program being managed effectively?
It needs to be. As a business owner facing the day-to-day pressures of running a business, managing workplace health and safety requirements can be confusing and seem ineffective and overwhelming at times. You may not have a dedicated safety department or qualified safety personnel to assist you with your workplace health and safety program. However, managing health and safety requirements doesn't need to be difficult if you have the right strategy.
